The 2026 ELECTIONS - GOD IS SPEAKING and God IS JUDGING!!!
By Steven J. Hogan
~ A Saturday Morning Post #389 ~
The United States had an election this past Nov. 3, and it was a meteor strike, a blue tsunami for one of the parties, and most people were surprised, were shocked by the results. The outcome, the massive leadership shake up in national, state, and local offices, was totally unexpected. But God wasn’t surprised, for He is sovereign over the affairs of this entire country, and was personally involved in every single race. He “removes kings and establishes kings” (Dan. 2:20), He is “the Judge – He puts down one and exalts another” (Ps. 75:7). “God does according to His will in the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of earth.” Dan. 4:35
The main reason for this political earthquake is that God is judging the United States for rejecting Him, for not loving Him, for worshipping idols, for sins of pride, greed, hate, selfishness, worldliness, frivolity, impurity, immorality, homosexuality, abortion, etc. “Thus says the Lord, ‘What injustice did your fathers find in Me, that they went far from Me and walked after emptiness and became empty?’” (Jer. 2:4, 13; Mk. 7:21-23; 2 Tim. 3:1-4). God has given this country over to sin, to a depraved, perverted, unclean mind, or as some say, craziness. He has taken off the restraints and is letting her do what she wants (Rom. 1:18-32). Last year, I wrote a series of very detailed posts about the sins of our country and how God is judging us. I encourage you to read them – #’s 343, 344, 345, 346, 347.
What happened in this last election is God’s most recent big-time judgment upon this nation for her sins. “Alas, sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, offspring of evildoers, sons who act corruptly! They have abandoned the Lord” (Is. 1:4). “Arise, O Lord, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged before You. Put them in fear, O Lord; let the nations know that they are but men” (Ps. 9:20). I say with sobriety and sadness that there will be more judgments in the future.
What really struck me about this election is how massive a defeat it was, how big of a judgment it is. First, every state in this country was affected. Second, the size of the defeat was huge, for both House and Senate will be under the strong hand of Democrats, the more unrighteous party. Third, many godless people – atheists, Muslims, Marxists, false teachers, etc. will be in positions of power, unlike anything we have ever seen before. I don’t think you want to know some of the things they want to do. Many of their decisions will detrimentally affect this country’s morality, freedoms, families, schools, courts, economy, borders, etc. Fourth, their policies that are evil will greatly and terribly impact our country for years to come.
Yes, there were righteous people elected to office, but many more were evil, more than ever before. They are liars, lawless, and wicked. And God wants us to wake up and be sobered by the fact that He is holy, just, powerful, and sovereign, and is judging this country by putting radical people in positions of power – by giving us just what we deserve.
Every nation in the world can see and hear what is happening, but most people do not understand that God Himself was behind it. And He wants everyone to wake up, and know why He is so strongly judging this nation, the #1 superpower in the world, that it’s because of her sin. “Hear, O peoples, all of you; listen, O earth and all it contains.” Mic. 1:2, Is. 1:2
The message of God’s judgment as described by the Old Testament prophets was mainly for His people, the Jews. “Hear the word of the Lord, O house of Jacob” (Jer. 2:4). “Hear this, O elders, and listen, all inhabitants of the land” (Joel 1:2). God wanted the Jews to wake up, to turn from their sin, to turn to Him, and be godly. Sadly, most of them were hardened, and they did not listen to God, and did not repent of their sins.
Here we are, over 2500 years later, and we are talking about the United States. And the message of the prophets is not old and outdated. It is a message that’s relevant for every person in this country. It is a warning to both Christians and non-Christians to recognize that the real issues in our nation are not political or financial, but spiritual. And God’s solution is that we repent of our sins and turn to Him and His word. But it’s distressing when listening to news people, politicians, and pundits, for they don’t understand that the election results are God’s judgment upon our country, and that our real problem is not the war or the economy, but sin – it’s turning our backs on God, our Creator. “Remove the evil of your deeds from My sight. Cease to do evil, learn to do good.” Is. 1:16b-17a
The United States, by God’s grace, has been incredibly blessed and influential throughout her history. But in the past 60-70 years, she has become increasingly sinful with the result that she has been spiritually going downhill. Living in a rich, prosperous, entertaining, fun-loving, food-loving, fame-loving, money-loving, self-centered country is tempting to Christians, and has resulted in many believers being fleshly, worldly, and weak (Lk. 6:24-26). Sin dilutes your testimony, saps your spiritual energy, and keeps you from being a good witness for Christ.
The message of the prophets in these days is primarily for Christians, that you are to be holy and are to be loving and serving God. It’s also about hope, about looking forward to seeing Christ and seeing Him as your King, as a perfect ruler over this world (Is. 2:1-4, 4:2-6, 9:6-7, 60-62). If you are not well acquainted with the prophets, then read and study them. You will realize that they are applicable at this present time – for you will learn a great deal about God, sin, holiness, and hope. “Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.” Is. 6:3
More than anyone, pastors must read the prophets, know their message of holiness and hope, and teach it to their people. They should be like John the Baptist and preach the gospel, Christ’s return, and the coming judgment. “You, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go on before the Lord to prepare His ways, to give to His people the knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins” (Lk. 1:76-77). “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” Lk. 3:16-17
The significance of this recent election as it relates to God’s prophetic plans cannot be overstated. The United States is going down, is getting weaker because of her stage-4 spiritual cancer, and sooner or later she will no longer be the #1 power in the world. A major purpose of God’s judgment upon this nation, of her drastic decline in power and influence, is to open the way for another world superpower, the Antichrist and his kingdom. In the near future, believers who are alive during Dan. 70th week will witness the rise of the Antichrist (Dan. 9:24-27, Matt. 24:15, 2 Th. 2:3-9, Rev. 13). “The whole earth was amazed and followed after the beast… for they worshiped the beast saying, ‘Who is like the beast, and who is able to wage war with him?’” Rev. 13:3b, 4b
In spite of all the difficult things that will be happening, you must remember to fulfill your purpose. Be in a good church (Eph. 2:19-21). Know that God loves you (1 Jn. 4:16), leads you (Ps. 32:8), is powerful (Ps. 146:5), is holy (1 Pet. 1:16), is sovereign, is causing “all things to work together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son” (Rom. 8:28-29). Meditate on, think about God’s word (Ps. 1:2). Obey God (Jn. 14:21).
Love God and love people (Mk. 12:30-31). Stay close to Jesus (Matt. 11:28-29). Be filled with the Spirit (Eph. 5:18). Have faith (Heb. 11:6). Have hope (Rom. 15:13). Encourage others (Heb. 3:12-13). Use your spiritual gift (1 Pet. 4:10-11). Seek first the kingdom of God (Matt. 6:33). Build the church (Matt. 16:18). Share the gospel (Matt. 24:14). Make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). Believe God’s promises (2 Pet. 1:3-4, Jn. 14:1-3). Rejoice, pray, and give thanks (1 Th. 5:16-18). Tell of all God’s wonders (Ps. 9:1). Sing praises to God (Ps. 9:2). And pray for those in authority, for our leaders, even those who are evil. 1 Tim. 2:1-2
Finally, you need to know the end-time’s sequence of events. Let me summarize what God tells us will be taking place in the years ahead.
* In the end-times, there will be beginning birth pains in various places around the world. Matt. 24:4-8
* At the beginning of Dan. 70th week, a 7-year prophetic period, Israel, looking for protection (the United States will have left her), will confirm a covenant with a most evil person, one who will later be revealed as the Antichrist. Dan. 9:27, Matt 24:15, 2 Th. 2:3-4
* During the 1st half of the week, a Jewish temple will be built and sacrifices will be offered. 2 Th. 2:4
* After this, the Antichrist will be gaining power and be building his evil empire. Dan. 7:23-26
* At the midpoint, the 3½ year mark of Dan. 70th week, the Antichrist is revealed for who he is, for he will desolate, he will desecrate the temple in Jerusalem. Matt. 24:15, 2 Th. 2:3-5
* Immediately after this, there’s great tribulation – the Antichrist will be greatly persecuting both Jews and Christians. Matt. 24:9, 15-21
* This great tribulation goes on for a little while, but is cut short at an unknown time during the last half of Dan. 70th week. Matt. 24:21-22, 28
* There are signs in the heavens, a great darkening of the skies above and a great earthquake on earth, indicating the end of this age. Matt. 24:29, Rev. 6:12-14
* The skies suddenly light up, and Christ is seen coming on the clouds, and at the blast of a trumpet, God sends forth His angels and all believers from all of time are gathered to Christ. Matt. 24:31, 1 Th. 4:15-17
* Believers are worshiping Jesus Christ in heaven. And the angels say, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God forever and ever. Amen.” Rev. 7:9-11
